MarylanD State Police Tests MediFlag Booklet
Frederick, Maryland – June 24, 2008 – The Maryland State Police Aviation Command is testing a new tool which enables the trooper/flight paramedic to conduct initial medical assessments of Spanish speaking patients. The portable booklet will be carried in the paramedic’s critical intervention bag and used on scene for patients who speak only Spanish. The Maryland State Police Aviation Command will use the MediFlag booklet as a way to directly serve diverse communities in emergency situations.
“We are looking forward to evaluating the effectiveness of the MediFlag product,” said First Sergeant Tobin T. Triebel of the Maryland State Police Aviation Command. “Our troopers and medical personnel are sworn to uphold our core values of integrity, fairness and service. We hope that the MediFlag booklet will assist us in our daily effort to bring the best care and response to the citizens of Maryland.”
The MediFlag booklet is a unique, reusable tool enabling medical personnel to conduct initial assessments of non-English speaking patients. Available in 14 languages, it is a cost-effective way for medical professionals to provide immediate and consistent care to patients. Durable, re-usable and easy to sterilize, MediFlag can mean the difference when seconds count. MediFlag is a Maryland based company headquartered in Frederick, Maryland.
